It wasn’t often he indulged in his favorite toy, but every once in a while, he just needed to feel something in his ass besides his fingers. He would have preferred it to be Dom, but that wasn’t likely to happen.

  He could fantasize.

With quick, efficient movements, Keeland fixed the plastic suction mat to the floor of the shower. Next, he screwed on the thin rubber dildo. Once everything was in place and ready to go, Keeland grabbed the lube he kept in the box along with his shower toys. He squirted some onto his fingers, then reached around behind himself and slid two into his ass.

The burn was there, but so was the pleasure. This was why he’d always been attracted to big biker types. He might be staid in his everyday life, but when it came to bedroom play, he wanted to be used, dominated. He wanted a little pain with his pleasure. He wanted to walk funny the next day with a big grin on his face because his ass ached from being pounded into the mattress.

When he was sufficiently stretched, Keeland knelt down on the tile floor. It took careful movements, ones he had perfected over time, but he crouched over the tip of the dildo and slowly lowered himself.

As soon as the head of the dildo breached his ass, Keeland started stroking his cock. By the time his ass cheeks rested on the heels of his feet, his cock was rock hard. Pumping his hand hard and fast, Keeland started moving his hips up and down, fucking himself on the rubber silicone penis. It wasn’t the same as a real man, but oh god, did it feel good.

Keeland stroked his dick harder, making sure he stroked his thumb over the small slit in the tip. His breathing came faster as the pleasure built, drawing him closer to nirvana. Just when he didn’t think he could stand it anymore, he felt a tingling at the base of his spine. His balls drew up. His body stiffened.

“Dom!” Keeland screamed as his head fell back, his entire body going stiff as ropes of cum shot from his cock, splattering all over the tile floor before washing down the drain.

Keeland slumped forward, resting on his hands. He drew in several deep breaths before lifting himself off his pleasure toy. He was fucking worn out, and not just from the orgasm he’d had. He was tired of having to use a shower toy to get off. He wanted a real man.

Hell, who was he kidding? He wanted Dom.

Keeland cleaned his toy, then set it on the counter. He finished showering before climbing out to dry himself off. Once he was dry, he placed his toy back in the box for the next time he became desperate.

Maybe he should name the damn thing “Dom.”

Keeland flipped off the bathroom light, then froze when something moved past the window. He swallowed tightly before stepping closer and pulling back the edge of the curtain. It was dark out so he couldn’t see much, but there didn’t seem to be anything outside, although he could have sworn he’d seen something.

  Probably his imagination.

Keeland chuckled to himself as he walked into the bedroom and climbed into bed. He closed his eyes and let his mind drift. He had joked that Dom was going to be his stalker. Wouldn’t that have been cool? Although, he wasn’t sure he would have wanted Dom to watch him get off in the shower. That would have been really humiliating. Or not, if Dom got off on that sort of thing.

  He could dream, anyway.

  * * * *

“Holy shit.” Dom panted as he crouched in the bushes. That had been the hottest thing he’d seen in…well, forever. He’d just wanted to check on Keeland. He had no idea he’d get a show too.

Keeland had a serious kinky streak, and Dom couldn’t be happier about that. Vanilla sex was all well and good, but a little kink that could curl your toes just made it so much better. Dom couldn’t wait until they could try out his box of toys.

Dom sniffed the air to make sure no one was around, then darted across the street and into the bushes that led to the trees beyond. It didn’t take him long to get back to his bike. He hadn’t left it too far into the forest. Riding on a dirt road wasn’t his favorite thing to do.

If Keeland ever learned he’d lied about the bike being damaged just so he could ride back to town and spend more time with him, the man was going to be pissed.

Once at his bike, he took another quick sniff of the air before shifting and reaching for the clothes folded on top of his bike seat. There was a slight nip in the air tonight, but Dom was so heated from images of Keeland getting off in the shower and calling out his name as he came, he barely felt it.

He pulled his jacket on, then swung his leg over the bike and started it up. He chuckled as he drove down the dirt road. He doubted he could keep the grin off his face if someone had him at gunpoint.

Keeland had called out his name when he came. That had to mean the guy was interested in him. He’d just have to turn up the heat a little. He needed Keeland to be very interested.

The ride back to his place went pretty easy, although Dom couldn’t say he’d seen any of the scenery as he zipped past it. He was too damn busy plotting his next move. Keeland Fagon was going to be his. Both he and his cat were in agreement about that, and Dom had no idea what that meant.

Maybe he did need to talk to Gabriel and Chay. They seemed to know more about this romance stuff than he did. Hell, everyone on the planet knew more about romance than he did. Maybe he should read a book or something. There had to be something out there that would tell him how to woo Keeland.

Dom rolled his eyes at himself. He had never felt this uncertain in his life. He was normally so self-assured he didn’t even question if someone he was interested in would be interested back. Dom simply assumed they would be. Why was he questioning himself now?

  What made Keeland so different?

  Chapter Four

Dom grinned when he spotted Keeland’s truck slowing as it passed the front of the motorcycle shop. This wasn’t the first time he’d seen that either. It had been a week since Keeland barreled into his life, and he’d seen more of that dark-blue pickup truck in that week than he had since he’d moved to Black Rock.

Dom counted that as a win.

He’d been methodically plotting and putting into action his plan to drive Keeland crazy. It seemed to be working. It had taken him a few days of sitting outside Keeland’s vet clinic and then following him when the clinic closed to figure out his schedule, but now he had it down pretty well.

Luckily, Keeland seemed to be a creature of habit. He worked from eight o’clock in the morning until six o’clock at night. After closing the clinic, he drove home. Only once had he deviated from that routine when he’d gone to the grocery store before heading home. He didn’t even leave the clinic for lunch, but ate in.

And that was where the next stage of Dom’s plan came into action. He glanced at the picnic basket sitting on the floor behind the counter. He’d done a bit of research online. Some of the stuff he’d read had been good, but some of it had been idiotic. He hoped taking Keeland lunch fell into the good category.

He glanced at the clock on the wall. He had another couple hours to go before it was time to take lunch to Keeland. The time until then was going to be excruciating. His skin was itching and his panther was anxious. If he didn’t already have plans, he’d go for a run just to let his panther out.

  “Dude!”

  Dom glanced up. “What?”

Chayton Garon, his best friend, dropped his gaze down to the counter.

Dom frowned as he did the same. “Oops.” He quickly let go of the counter he’d been gripping so hard it had started to crack. “I’ll replace it.”

“What’s up with you?” Chay asked. “You’ve been jumpy for days.”

Dom rubbed his hand over his face as he tried to reel in his agitation. “How did you know my brother was the one?”

Chay’s eyebrows rose. “How did I know he was my mate?”

  Dom nodded.

“I don’t know how it is with everyone else, but for me it started with the way he smells.” Chay got this dreamy look in his eyes. “Your brother smells fantastic.”

  Dom grimaced.
I don’t need to know that.”

Chay chuckled. “You asked.” He frowned just as fast as he’d laughed. “Why did you ask?”

  “I…met someone.”

  Sort of.

Chay’s eyebrows shot up. “You met someone?”

  Dom nodded.

  “How? When?”

“I kind of ran him down with my motorcycle last week.”

“Shit, Dom. That’s not how you get a date.”

“I know.” Dom rested his elbows on the counter, then dropped his head into his hands.

“Is that when your bike got trashed?”

He nodded without lifting his head.

“So, when do Gabe and I get to meet him?”

  Dom groaned.

“Do we get to meet him?”

Dom drew in a fortifying breath. “If I can convince him to go out with me.”

He groaned again when his best friend’s jaw dropped. He knew that would be Chay’s reaction. He wasn’t known for being turned down by anyone he was interested in. He wasn’t even known for having to go after anyone. Men came to him. They always had.

He was definitely out of his comfort zone.

“He never leaves work for lunch, so I’m taking him a picnic.”

Chay raised an eyebrow. “What does he do?”

Dom felt a sliver of pride slide through him. “Keeland is a veterinarian.”

Chay chuckled. “That has to be interesting under the circumstances.”

Dom could see the humor in that statement, and Chay was right. Considering he could shift into a panther, having the hots for someone who treated animals medically was interesting. And weird.

“Is he where you got Henrietta?”

Dom smiled as he thought about the little white fur ball creating havoc in his office. “Yeah, Keeland was rescuing her when I nearly ran him down.”

“When are you taking him lunch?”

Dom glanced at the clock on the wall again. “In about three hours.”

“You gonna make it that long?”

Dom rubbed both hands over his face before dropping them to the countertop. “I don’t know, Chay. I’ll be honest. I’ve never felt like this before. It’s insane. He’s all I can think about.”

“Do you think maybe he could be your mate?”

“I didn’t at first, but now I’m not so sure.” Dom breathed deep. There was something liberating about admitting that. “You know me. I don’t chase guys, but for Keeland, I’d do it in a minute. If he told me to jump, I’d ask how high and then eagerly do it.” He shot his friend a look of total desperation. “How is that normal?”

“If he’s your mate, then it’s very normal. I’d pretty much kill a rock for your brother.”

Well, that was good for his brother, but it wasn’t for Dom. “I don’t know how to woo someone, Chay.”

“The picnic is a good start.” Chay clapped him on the shoulder, giving him a squeeze. “Have lunch with him, but don’t go expecting anything. You’re just trying to get the lay of the land here. When you’re done, come find me and I’ll help you plan your next move.”

Dom nodded. That sounded like a good plan. He could do that. God knew he didn’t have anything else planned after the picnic idea. He was kind of playing it by ear.

“Hey, has Gabriel found anything else out about our brothers?” he asked to get his mind off Keeland and onto something that wouldn’t make him ache with need.

“Nothing yet. We know Rafael is somewhere in the southwest, but we’ve drawn a complete blank on Mikhail. It’s like he dropped off the face of the planet about the time he was nine years old.” Chay winced. “Gabe hasn’t said anything, but I think he believes Mikhail might be dead.”

“Fuck.” Dom reached back and rubbed the muscles that seemed to have knotted at the back of his neck. “That’s bad. I didn’t even know I had brothers a couple of months ago, and just thinking one of them could be gone makes me want to mourn him.”

How was that possible? Dom had gone his entire life thinking he was alone. The man he’d thought was his father split when he was just a baby, and the woman who was supposed to be his mother had been a complete nightmare. Dom had grown up knowing from a very early age that he only had himself to rely on.

Until a couple of months ago when Gabriel came into his life and Dom discovered that the people he thought had given him life hadn’t. His parents were murdered by an insane maniac wanting to wipe out the royal line so he could take over. Only Dom, his brothers, and their guardians had escaped the carnage. They still weren’t sure what happened to the guardians.

Well, except for Gabriel’s guardian, Aldrik. He was still around and always had been, even if Gabriel hadn’t known it. To keep Gabriel safe from those who wanted their family obliterated, Aldrik had watched over Gabriel from afar. Dom wished his guardian had done the same. Maybe his childhood wouldn’t have sucked so damn much.

“Why don’t we get some of this work done?” Chay held up a clipboard that listed the bikes needing work in the shop. “Then you go have your picnic with your veterinarian, and then you can come over to the house and see what Gabriel’s found so far. After that, we can brainstorm how to win this guy for you.”

Dom breathed out slowly. “Yeah, that sounds good.”

He was pretty sure he'd need all the help he could get.

By the time the clock read a quarter to eleven, Dom was ready to climb the walls. He was so ready to go. He grabbed Henrietta out of his office and stuck her into his jacket, then grabbed the picnic basket.

“Chay, I’m headed out for lunch. I’ll be back in a little while.”

“Good luck,” Chay called from the back of the shop.

Dom knew he was going to need every damn bit of it. He grabbed the picnic basket and headed for the door. The veterinarian clinic was just a couple blocks away, so he decided to walk. The fresh air would probably do him some good. He waved to a few people he knew as he walked, smiling here and there. It never hurt to make nice with the townspeople.

He felt as if he could breathe again by the time the clinic came into view. He spotted Keeland’s truck parked around the side, and grimaced when he saw a couple of cars parked in front of the clinic. He really hoped that didn’t mean Keeland would have to skip lunch.

  Dom had plans.

He smiled at the receptionist when he stepped through the front door. “Hello, I’m here to see Dr. Fagon. Can you tell him Henrietta is here?” Dom nodded to the furry little head sticking out of his jacket.

The receptionist smiled back. “Dr. Fagon is with a client right now. Would you like to have a seat and I’ll tell him you’re here for a checkup?”

  “Yes, thank you.”

He hadn’t mentioned a checkup, but he’d take what he could get.

Dom walked over to the waiting area and sat down in one of the chairs against the wall. He stared around the brightly lit room for a few minutes until he realized the receptionist was paying him an undue amount of attention. He grabbed a magazine and started flipping through the pages.

When a door opened and Dom heard footsteps coming toward him, he glanced up. He frowned when two men in dark suits came into view. They didn’t seem like the pet type. That idea was kind of backed up by the fact that they didn’t have a pet with them.

Maybe they were suppliers or something. He watched them walk out of the clinic, get into one of the cars out front, and drive away.

  Okay, that was weird.

Dom stood when Keeland came out of the back. The man walked to the counter and set down a file before turning to stare out the front window. Dom smiled at the pucker that appeared between his eyes, an obvious sign that he was thinking hard.

Dom grabbed the picnic basket and headed toward his prey. When Keeland turned toward him and his eyes widened, Dom gave his sexiest grin and held up the basket. “I brought you lunch.”

A look of total disbelief crossing Keeland's face. “You brought me lunch?”

  Dom pulled the zippe
r of his jacket down a little more so Henrietta could stick her head out. “Henrietta missed you.”

Keeland’s brow lifted. “Henrietta missed me?”

“Oh yes. She insisted that we bring you lunch so she could see you.”

  “Just Henrietta?”

Dom shrugged. “I might have missed you too.”

Keeland stared for a moment before laughing as he turned to the receptionist. “Jarrod, I’m going to take lunch now. Call me if we have any emergencies.”

  “Sure thing, Dr. Fagon.”

Keeland glanced back at Dom, then nodded toward the back of the clinic. “My office is back here. We can eat in there.”

Dom couldn’t keep the grin off his face as he followed Keeland to the back of the clinic. He was a little surprised when they reached Keeland’s office. The rest of the clinic had seemed so clean and organized, yet Keeland’s office looked as though a hurricane had blown through it.”

“I’m still moving in,” Keeland said as he moved some of the books around and created a clean space on his desk. He waved his hand toward the chair, which had books on it. “You can just put those on the floor.”

Dom set the picnic basket on the table, then moved the stack of books so he could sit down. He pulled his jacket off. While holding Henrietta with one hand, he hung his jacket on the back of the chair, then sat down.

  “I hope you’re hungry.”

Keeland wiggled his eyebrows. “Depends on what you brought for lunch.”

“Hoagies.” Dom opened the picnic basket and pulled out the food he’d prepared for them. He’d made them himself, hoagies stacked with meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. He’d even made a garlic aioli to go with it.

He carefully set everything on the desk—the sandwiches, a container of sliced fruit, drinks, napkins, even a bowl of soft kitten food for Henrietta. “I hope you like ice tea.”

  Keeland nodded. “Love it.”

“I would have brought beer, but with you being at work and all…”

“Yeah, that wouldn’t have been good. Clients tend to get a little upset if I treat their pets while I’m tipsy.” A small blush flushed Keeland’s cheeks. “I don’t drink much. I tend to try and crawl everywhere because I’m afraid of falling.”
