Geek Squad 02 - Operation Foxtrot Page 10

  My ocelot was thrilled.

“I was attracted to you that first moment I saw you in the jungle.” A soft chuckle escaped Cooper’s mouth. “God, you were so beautiful. You literally took my breath away.”

I snorted out my disbelief. Did he really think I was going to buy that line? I’d been called beautiful before.

“And then I saw how brave you were, and I started to fall a little more. Despite how scared you were, you still did everything you could to rescue Hank. That was something to see, let me tell you, and in my business, that’s saying a lot.”

I bit my bottom lip to keep from moaning when Cooper’s fingers started sliding through my hair. I didn’t know if it came from being an ocelot shifter or not, but I loved it when Cooper touched me.

  I felt like purring.

“When I discovered how smart you were, I was hooked.”

  Bullshit.

If he had been hooked, he wouldn’t have kicked me to the curb.

  “But I was also afraid.”

Stunned, I opened my eyes and tilted my head back to look up at Cooper. “You were afraid?”

A wry smile crossed Cooper’s lips. “I was terrified.”

  “Of what?”

  “Of you.”

“Me?” I squeaked before frowning. “Because I can shift?”

“Oh, no.” Cooper grinned. “That actually fascinates me.”

  “Then what?”

“Of wanting you so much that I forgot that this was a really bad idea.”

I pushed at Cooper’s chest, trying to get away from him and the anguish his words created. Cooper tried to press me back to his chest, but when that didn’t work, he just rolled over on top of me and pinned me to the bed.

I blinked rapidly to hide my tears as I glared up at him. “Get off me.”

“No, not until you listen to me.” Something shifted in Cooper’s eyes and his voice softened. “Please, Andrew.”

I pressed my lips together. Cooper might be Marine Force Recon, but I was a shifter. We both knew I could escape if I wanted to. That knowledge was alive in Cooper’s green eyes.

Cooper’s gaze roamed over my face. His hand caressed my cheek. “You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, and I have been all over the world and seen things you couldn’t even conceive of.”

Great, another man who was obsessed with my looks.

  Just what I needed.

I dropped my gaze to stare at Cooper’s chest. I was not impressed.

  “And you’re wicked smart.”

I glanced up. Okay, he had my attention.

“You drive me fucking insane. I can’t count the number of times I wanted to grab you and shake you until your teeth rattled.”

  I lifted an eyebrow.

“And then I wanted to kiss you until your toes curled.”

My body heated just thinking about Cooper kissing me. I was pretty sure I could live on his kisses.

That didn’t mean I was ready for Cooper to kiss me.

“You still scare the fuck out of me, Andrew.”

I cocked my head to one side as I stared up at Cooper. “Why?”

“Because I want you so much.”

“I would think that was a good thing.”

“I want you enough to not listen to my common sense. I tried in the beginning. I tried to stay away from you, to put distance between us, but every time I turned around, there you were, and I fell all over again.”

  “I don’t understand, Coop.”

  “I want to keep you.”

I swallowed tightly when my throat threatened to close up. “Okay.”

“But it’s a really, really bad idea.”

I swallowed again as the ache in my chest grew stronger. If Cooper kept talking, I wasn’t sure I could survive it. “W-why?”

“Because if I keep you, I’ll never let you go.”

  Uh…

  “I’m a Marine, Andrew.”

“I know.” It had been explained to me often enough.

  “I’m on active duty.”

I knew I often complained that people didn’t consider me intelligent because I was pretty, but in that moment, I felt like an idiot. “I need more clues here, Cooper. I don’t understand what you’re trying to tell me.”

“I’m out in the field a lot, Andrew, sometimes weeks at a time. I’ve seen how hard separation is on relationships.”

I narrowed my eyes. “You broke my heart because you thought I couldn’t handle being away from you?”

“No!” Cooper said quickly. “I didn’t think I could handle it.”

  Oh.

“I think about you constantly, Andrew. I worry about you every second of every day. Are you warm enough? Are you getting enough to eat? Are you safe? Is someone bothering you? Are you happy? Are you smiling? Are you thinking about me? It drives me fucking insane.”

  “I’m sorry?”

It seemed like the thing to say.

Cooper inhaled a stuttering breath. “I tried, Andrew. I tried to let you go. I swear I did.”

  I remembered.

  Vividly.

“What changed?” I asked. “If you’re so afraid of being with me, then why are you telling me you love me now?”

“Because I do, damn it. I love you so much my heart aches with it.”

I blinked, then blinked again when my vision grew blurry. “You really love me?”

“God, baby, I love you so damn much,” Cooper said. “Is there any chance you could learn to love me?”

Loving Cooper wasn’t my problem. I was pretty sure I had loved him from the moment I saw him. Trusting him with my heart was a whole other problem. He had crushed it once. I wasn’t sure I was ready to let him do it again.

When Cooper’s eyes dropped away and he started to roll away from me, I realized I was doing the same thing to him that he had done to me. I was letting my fear make my decisions for me.

  “I love you,” I whispered.

Cooper’s eyes snapped back to me. They were so full of hope and desperation.

I held up my hand when he went to speak. “I love you, but I don’t know if I can trust you. You broke my heart once. I’m not sure I’m ready to put it out there again.”

I still didn’t think I’d survive it if he rejected me again.

“If you give me another chance, I swear I’ll treat your heart like the treasure it is.” Something suspiciously wet flooded Cooper’s eyes. “I’ll never break your trust again, Andrew. I swear.”

I wanted to believe him. I really did, but… “What happens when you go back out into the field?”

“I’ve been thinking a lot about that.” I leaned into the hand Cooper stroked down the side of my face. It was so warm. “I think maybe it’s time for me to find another line of work.”

My eyes rounded. “You’d give up the military for me?”

  “For us.”

“But you love being a Marine.”

  “I love you more.”

“Cooper, I don’t think I could handle it if you started to resent me because you left the military for me.” It would break my heart all over again.

“No, this is more than that. I’ve been in the service my entire adult life. It’s time for me to step back and find something a little less…invigorating.”

I snorted. “And you think being with me will be less invigorating?”

  Dumbass.

A smile curved up Cooper’s lips. “I want to do all those things people do in relationships. I want to wake up curled around you in the mornings. I want to cook breakfast together and sit and talk about what we’re going to do with our day, and then I want to spend my day with you. I want to come home at night and cuddle on the couch with you and watch movies. I want to sleep with you in my arms every night.”

  That actually sounded pretty nice.

“I want to spend every moment of every day with you. And when I get bored with that, I want to do it all over again just to see if it’s any different the second time arou
nd.”

I chuckled. “You want to play house with me.”

I blinked at how quickly Cooper’s expression grew serious.

“I don’t want to play, Andrew.”

My breath stuttered in my chest when Cooper held up a ring. It was white gold with a large diamond in the middle, surrounded by two smaller diamonds on either side. The cut and arrangement looked old-fashioned.

  “Cooper.”

“I know it’s a little feminine, but it was my mother’s. It meant a lot to her, and I know she would have wanted you to have it.”

  “It’s beautiful.”

Feminine or not, it was stunning.

Cooper’s green eyes were hard and searching when he gazed at me. “Will you wear my ring, Andrew? Will you let me keep you?”

  Oh, wow.

  Chapter Thirteen

“If I say yes, there’s no going back, Cooper. You can’t toss me back if you get bored or decide you want to go back into the service. I’m a shifter. I’ll track you down and bite you.”

Cooper’s smile was blinding as he slid the ring on my finger. “You can bite me now.”

I blinked. “You want me to bite you?”

Cooper’s face flushed. “I’ve thought about it.”

I grinned as I rubbed the side of my face over the warm chest in front of me. And it smelled so nice, so masculine. I opened my mouth and turned my head, licking a trail across the tangy skin.

  Cooper was aroused.

  I could smell it.

  “Andrew.”

“You smell really good,” I murmured as I nuzzled my face into the curve of Cooper’s throat.

  “Andrew.”

I huffed and raised my head, not happy about being taken away from my playground. “What?”

There was a deep hunger in Cooper’s green eyes when they dropped to my mouth. I almost groaned when Cooper licked his lips. It was such a sensuous gesture. I wondered if Cooper actually knew that and was just torturing me.

When the man leaned down and claimed my lips in a hungry kiss that demanded a response, I thought I’d lose my damn mind. I felt a needy groan build up in my throat. I pushed into the kiss. The caress of Cooper’s lips on my mouth and the longing in my body set me on fire. Despite the warning bells going off in my head, I returned Cooper’s kiss with reckless abandon.

I wanted it too damn much.

I swept my tongue over Cooper’s lips then pressed in, exploring tentatively. I could feel the simmering need building, overwhelming me as Cooper opened wider for me, allowing me to explore.

“Cooper,” I whispered as I tore my mouth away.

  I knew what I needed.

  What I wanted.

  Dennis Cooper.

Cooper’s calloused hands slowly moved downward, skimming either side of my body to my hips, making me shiver from the feather light touch. I lifted my hips when Cooper tugged at the towel wrapped around me.

A spurt of hungry desire spiraled through me when I heard Cooper’s lustful groan. I whimpered, tilted my hips up, and prayed that Cooper could read the invitation without me having to voice what I wanted.

Cooper leaned forward, his lips nibbling at my ear, sending a spark of electricity through my entire body. “I’m going to fuck you, Andrew,” he whispered in a low tone.

  Oh thank god!

A smile tipped up the corners of my mouth, but I held back the eagerness in my voice. “I’m all yours.”

I was pretty sure I always would be.

Cooper moved closer until his muscular body pressed against mine. We fit so perfectly together, almost as if we were two halves of the same whole.

I bit my lip to stifle a cry when Cooper’s hands settled on my chest. Cooper’s hands were firm as they touched me, sending a shiver of longing through me.

  Each touch was perfect.

“Does that feel good?” Cooper asked as he gently tugged on one hardened nub.

“Oh yeah.” Hell, it felt frigging fantastic. I was panting and ready within seconds.

Cooper locked eyes with me and then lowered his head. I was lost in the sight as Cooper tugging on my nipple with his teeth. My cock throbbed painfully, ready to explode, but I fought the need to come as I watched Cooper explore.

“You’re teasing me,” I said with a whimper, twisting in the grip of an erotic heat that was burning me alive. “Don’t tease me, Cooper, please.”

A wicked smile formed on Cooper’s gorgeous face. “You have to learn patience, kitten.”

  To hell with patience.

  I wanted to be fucked.

But it seemed my begging hadn’t hurried Cooper along one damn bit. If anything, the man seemed to slow down. His licks were slower, tracing from one nipple to the next as he teased the flesh with his teeth.

  I wasn’t going to survive.

“Turn over.” The man wasn’t joking around. His eyes were so sensually filled that I could almost feel the heat scorching my skin.

  I flipped over.

I smiled as Cooper rolled to the side of the bed and stood. Watching him strip his clothes off so fast the buttons tore off his shirt was both amusing and exhilarating.

“There’s lube in my bag.” I pointed to the navy-blue duffle bag next to the door.

Cooper grabbed the lube and then hurried back to the bed and climbed back on. When a slick finger touched my hole, I couldn’t help but rise to my hands and knees, rocking against the finger. I was losing my mind, and waiting on Cooper to move was going to make me insane.

Cooper slid his lubed finger inside my tight hole. My eyes crossed. The man had nailed my sweet spot on the first try. Lowering my shoulders to the bed, I whimpered.

“Am I hurting you?” Cooper asked, stilling.

“God, no,” I said as I panted.

Cooper seemed to catch on because he started using his finger as if it were his dick, fucking my ass in earnest. He fingers pushed deep and then pulled back. Cooper added a second finger and went in search of my prostate. I moaned as the long, thick fingers that seemed to fill me so perfectly brushed across my prostate.

A third finger quickly joined the first two, thrusting several times before they were removed. A feeling of emptiness started to overwhelm me until I felt the blunt head of Cooper’s cock pushing at my entrance. I sighed with pleasure when the head of Cooper’s cock popped past my tight ring of muscles.

  “So good, baby…so good.”

Shivers broke out all over my body when Cooper’s hand slid up my neck and over my scalp. Cooper grabbed a fistful of my hair and gave a light tug. Cooper’s balls slapped against my ass as the man began to pound into me. Each thrust nailed my gland, and I moaned, undulating as we moved together.

Cooper slid in and out of my ass so fast, I had a hard time staying on my knees. I was on the verge of coming. I wasn’t about to let this moment end so soon, but if Cooper kept up at his current pace, I was a goner.

Cooper licked the side of my neck, causing me to cry out in pleasure. My mind splintered as my orgasm exploded through me from one second to the next. My balls pulled so tight to my body as they emptied that I thought they would stay that way permanently. Cum coated my stomach.

Cooper pulled out and flipped me over and then thrust his cock back into my swollen hole. I lifted my ass higher, giving Cooper room to plunge deeper. Burying his head in my damp hair, Cooper moved a little faster, his thrusts becoming a little more desperate.

“You feel so good,” Cooper whispered.

I felt my heart racing even faster as Cooper kissed a trail across my shoulder. I loved having his lips on me.

  “Bite me, Andrew.”

I turned my head and sank my fangs into the soft flesh of his shoulder.

Cooper cried out as he pistoned into my ass until the man was roaring out his release. I could feel his cock pulse as liquid heat filled me, branding me from the inside.

Something deep in my soul felt as if it had ripped away and joined with Cooper, leaving me feeling as if no other man b
esides Cooper would ever satisfy me.

Cooper brushed a kiss across the finger with his ring on it before pressing my hand against his chest. “I’ll take good care of your heart, Andrew.”

I was still a little hesitant, but I couldn’t deny how much I wanted this. Cooper was everything I had ever dreamed of. “If you leave me now—”

“I won’t. I promise.” A pained expression marred Cooper’s handsome face. “I still have to finish this mission and then go back and turn in my papers, and they might make me do some weekend warrior stuff, but after that I’m all yours.”

I lifted one eyebrow. “Weekend warrior stuff?”

“Yeah, you know, one weekend a month, two weeks a year.”

  “Oh.”

“And there’s always a possibility that they can reactivate me if there’s a need, but…” Cooper shrugged. “There’s a lot of other people more qualified than me so the possibility of that happening are pretty low.”

I doubted it. Cooper was damn good at what he did.

“How are the guys in your unit going to feel about you leaving?” Those were men I did not want to aggravate. They could crush me like a bug.

“I’ve already talked to them and they understand.”

My jaw dropped. “You already talked to them?”

Cooper chuckled, no doubt amused by my shock. “This isn’t a split-second decision for me, Andrew. I’ve been thinking about it since we met back in the jungle.”

  I smiled. “Yeah?”

“I’m pretty sure the rest of them are going to think about mustering out here soon, too. I know Hank is. He doesn’t like being away from Ian. Sound familiar?”

I sighed as I leaned into Cooper. I could swear my ocelot was curled up, purring. I felt lighter, happy.

  It was a rare feeling.

  “So, what now?”

Cooper settled down beside me, keeping me tucked close to his chest. “Now, we finish this mission and then we decide—together—where we’re going to live and what we are going to do with the rest of our lives.”

“I have money, lots of it. We can go anywhere.”

“I’ve actually kind of have my heart set on a small town east of here.”

“You want to move to my hometown?”

  Was he insane?

  “You don’t?” Cooper asked.
